What we collect

When you take the quiz we collect the answers you submit, the email you provide, and technical details (IP address, browser type, referring page) that help us keep the service reliable and secure.

How we use it

We use your quiz answers to generate your personalized report. We use your email to send you the report and — if you opt in — occasional updates about our related program, Break the Locks. We use technical details to prevent abuse and understand aggregate traffic patterns.

Third-party processors

Your quiz responses, eulogy, and goals are sent to OpenAI's API in a de-identified form (no name, email, or IP) so that a language model can generate the written portion of your report. OpenAI's API terms prevent that data from being used to train their models. Email delivery is handled by our transactional email provider.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell your data. We do not share your email with third parties for marketing. We do not run behavioral advertising on this site.

Your rights

You can email hello@whatismypurpose.org to request a copy of your data or to delete it entirely. We honor these requests within 30 days.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep track of your quiz progress. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics that identify you.
